1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ash ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

2. License

Ash is proprietary software. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for your personal or internal business purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Software
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose
  • Sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the Software to third parties

3. Description of Service

Ash is a macOS sandboxing tool that restricts AI agents and their subprocesses using Apple's Endpoint Security and Network Extension frameworks. The Software enforces user-defined policies on file access, network operations, process execution, and environment variables.

4. System Requirements

The Software requires macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or later and specific system permissions including System Extension approval and Network Extension approval. You are responsible for ensuring your system meets these requirements.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Software will meet your requirements, operate without interruption, or be error-free. We do not warrant that the Software will prevent all security threats or unauthorized access.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Software
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any security breach or failure of the Software to prevent unauthorized access
  • Any third-party conduct or content
  • Any other matter relating to the Software

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ash and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Software or violation of these Terms.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Software to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the rights of others
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures of other systems
  • Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Software

9. Updates and Modifications

We may release updates, patches, or new versions of the Software. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Software at any time without notice.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use the Software immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Ash regarding the Software and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
